Monterey Bay Community Says: Carmel Mission Inn’s intimidation of workers must stop!
In an attempt to lock 55 Carmel Mission Inn hospitality workers into a permanent recession, the PVI Hotel Group management company has attacked workers’ rights. In the middle of bargaining for a new labor contract, PVI has tried to intimidate workers, while demanding deep and permanent contract concessions. UNITE HERE Local 483 has filed Unfair Labor Practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board, including challenges to Carmel Mission Inn management’s withdrawal of union recognition on January 13, 2011.
More than 450 area hotel workers and community supporters participated in STOP THE INTIMIDATION Rallies in the last several weeks. They have sent a clear message to Carmel Mission Inn management: The Monterey Bay Community will not stand for the intimidation of workers!
